It’s been an eventful day in the Green house. Nothing big or exciting, but lots of little events that have made the day . . . interesting.
To start, Ellie had an all-out screaming fit in the bathroom before school. She didn’t want to get ready… she wanted to sleep on the couch!! But it all turned out ok – a few minutes later she told me “I’m sorry for getting mad at you in the bathroom,” and we hugged and made up. 🙂
The rest of the morning was uneventful, except for finding two more asperigus shoots in the garden!
After lunch, my husband’s mom and brother, Joe, called from Nebraska. I got to talk to Joe on the phone – the first time ever! I’ve never even met him! Mary also got to speak to the kids for the first time.
Later in the afternoon after the kids’ rather long (2 hour!) nap we went outside to play. Shortly after going out the door, Ellie had an accident. Then, on the way to the park, a dog snatched Ellie’s grapes right out of her bowl, leaving only one behind! Then, a little while later, Jake ate her last grape! As you can imagine, we had a pretty major meltdown at this point.
I finally decided it was time to go home after Ellie tried to go potty behind a tree and sprayed her second pair of shorts and new shoes.
For supper we had chocolate chip pancakes with strawberries and bacon! Pretty appetizing! . . . until Jake pulled a long string of bacon out of his throat that he had eaten 10 minutes earlier. My appetite left at that point.
I’m very glad today is finished. Adding up 7 loads of laundry, another completed Women’s Bible Study lesson, going through 3 pairs of pants for each child, and all our other little events, today has been a long day.
P.S. I’m going to share about certain days from time to time – just for my own remembrance in the future!
