“What a cute little girl! She’s so adoreable! Look at that smile!! Look at her go!! Her little legs can really move! Look at her . . . . . WHAT IS SHE DOING??! Aghhh!!!……no……..no…….. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO……..”
Ah, yes. Crazy toddlerhood. Good thing they’re so cute, right? Good thing the memories of a soft, cuddly, quiet, immoble baby are still fresh, huh?
Hopefully some of the toddler-year memories will fade with time, though.
needing a bandaid on her knee every day before naptime
sucking a penny clean before Mommy realizes its in her mouth
pulling off a poopy diaper during naptime, which, by the way, is full of glitter from the glitter tube she ate yesterday
ruining two tubes of lipstick in two days
drawing with mascera
eating untold amounts of dirt and sand
licking the dirty dishes in the dishwasher along with the dog
saying “I do it” while trying to move Daddy’s hands off the handlebars during a bike ride
leaving teeth marks in a candle
drinking toilet water
insisting that she’s big enough to climb up and go down a 10-foot slide all by herself, causing Mommy to nearly have a heart-attack
pulling hair, biting, and pinching at will
screaming indiscriminately in public
needing a drink, snack, bandaid, and book in the middle of the night (same night)
She’s not even TWO yet?? How will she survive toddlerhood?? How will I?!
Maybe its actually we, the parents, being driven crazy. Ah well, if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.
